Brian Abeyta

Brian’s focus at MIRI is on geopolitics and artificial intelligence. He has two decades of experience dedicated to nonproliferation, chemical, biological, radiological and nuclear (CBRN) risk management, and emerging technologies. He has led multimillion dollar programs, and played instrumental roles in United States diplomatic efforts. He was previously the Pakistan Director at the White House National Security Council. He also worked at the Department of State, National Nuclear Security Administration, and began his career at Sandia National Laboratories contributing to nuclear security cooperation with countries in the former Soviet Union through the Nunn-Lugar Program.
